The need for this
The idea started in my 5th year working for an MSP as an IT Manager.
I cared for our client’s systems and branding as if it was my own business. I wanted to be able to use the best practices and products, to deliver quality service and the security I knew was possible. But instead, we couldn’t break away from being a traditional IT support. Stuck with inefficient operations, old software, bad habits, and focusing on low priority tasks that do not benefit the client as a whole. Only making individuals happy, while hoping disaster doesn’t happen. My drive wouldn’t let me settle for this as I knew something had to change.
“Out of sight, out of mind.”
This is how most IT view operations and systems they work with. The issue normal IT face is similar to coding. When they solve one problem, it often causes another one or more elsewhere. But that problem is for a later date, or someone else to handle.
My solution to breaking away from traditional IT, is approaching IT with a security focused strategy. Instead of treating IT as a helpdesk call center, I’m constantly testing for holes and problems before they become issues. Always using the best practices and software in the industry to protect and secure your company.
